Description
The Victron SmartSolar MPPT-RS 450 utilizes energy from solar panels to charge 48V battery banks. The 100A version has a maximum continuous output of 5760W, and the 200A version can reach 11520W in ideal conditions. Larger systems can stack up to 25 units, allowing for a 288kW system capacity.
Victron SmartSolar charge controllers utilize “MPPT” (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology to identify and adjust the voltage and current levels of solar panels to optimal levels. As sunlight and weather conditions change, the controller will automatically adjust to produce the maximum amount of power.
Multiple MPPT trackers in each unit support various solar array designs. The 100A version has two trackers, and the 200A version has four trackers. Individual trackers are ideal for solar strings installed at different locations, angles and/or shading conditions.
The overall power limits are: 5760W for the 100A 2-tracker version, and 11520W for the 200A 4-tracker version. Each individual tracker can support up to a 4000W solar string.
Due to the maximum 450Vdc max (VOC) input capacity, installers can keep wiring simple, and reduce lost energy. Additionally, higher operating voltages mean smaller wire can be used, reducing installation cost and complexity.
The PV input terminal connections on the bottom of the unit utilize MC4 connectors to facilitate quick wiring configurations and prevent critical damage from improper installation. The battery connections are an M8 (5/16”) stud, alongside an auxiliary terminal block for rapid-shutdown functionality.
A built-in display offers information at a glance. Bluetooth connection via the VictronConnect app provides access to adjust operating settings, view current production, and may also be used for troubleshooting. Pairing a Cerbo GX with this charge controller enhances system data monitoring.

I just completed installation and start-up of the 20K 120/240 Kit system, three 25K S0K battery racks, and forty-two 400W Rich Solar panels. A well-designed system and knowledgeable staff made the installation and start-up a breeze.
The well thought out complete package was beyond expectation, in every detail. Oversized cables hydraulically crimped with heat shrink and protective covers. No missing parts! The equipment was package and shipped on time, in very heavy-duty crates, on pallets organized in a way that made the installation simple and straight forward. Everything worked the first time.
I am now producing more electricity than I need! I am using all the equipment, A/C, refrigerators, freezers, and well pump, with plenty of power to recharge the battery bank every day. Worth every penny. I am now energy independent. I now use the public utility as my back-up source. Doubt I’ll ever need them.

i have the 450V/200A, this is the best controller ive ever used, its fast quiet and efficent and will work until the last ounce of light avalable.
