Description
The Victron Orion-Tr Smart Charger takes in power from alternators or batteries to charge a separate battery bank for use in energy storage systems. The built in alternator detection feature is ideal for charging secondary batteries from an alternator and starting battery in vehicles, boats and RVs.
Applications with multiple different voltages convert one DC voltage to another, allowing the battery to charge from a different voltage other than its original source. For example, a 12V service battery can charge from a 24V starter battery, or the other way around. The charger can continue to operate when input voltage drops below the output voltage.
These units have IP43 rating, making it suitable for both mobile, marine and residential systems. For applications requiring more current, multiple Orion-Tr Smart Chargers can be connected in parallel for increased capacity.
VictronConnect is an app that enables mobile configuration and connects via Bluetooth. Adjust charge settings for use with lithium batteries or lead-acid batteries, or use it as a power supply with a fixed output. VictronConnect will show the current input/output voltages, and the Orion-Tr’s charge stage.
These chargers have galvanic isolation between the input and the output. Galvanic isolation eliminates the chances of forming ground loops or faults from differences in ground potential.
