Description

This all-black Aptos solar panel is a 440W monocrystalline module that utilizes split cell technology. A 10 busbar design and patented DNA™ combined with PERC technology enables superior power production, efficiency, and longevity.

The advantage to split-cell technology is how it performs in partially-shaded conditions. Instead of losing the output of the entire panel, you would still generate energy from whichever half of the panel that is not shaded.

Average solar panel degradation is 23.3% over 30 years, however due to the increased efficiency of this panel, operating temperatures are reduced and degradation decreases to 17.6% over the same period.

Aptos Solar was founded in the coastal region of California and the panels are designed to withstand the corrosive salt spray and damp environments found in said coastal climates. The panels are level 6 salt mist tested and are certified up to 5400 Pascals (Pa) Wind Load.
