Description
The Aptos MAC-400 microinverter attaches to an individual solar panel to convert up to 400W solar power from DC to AC. Once converted, the power routes to an electrical panel to run loads, passes through an electrical panel to the grid, or passes through a standard inverter for use in charging batteries in a residential or commercial system.
Aptos designed the MAC-400 microinverters with 6000V surge protection, RSD (Rapid Shut Down) capabilities, solar harvest maximization, and the ability to monitor and diagnose individual panels. Since they connect to individual panels, it’s not necessary to resize an array for every panel addition. Instead, expanding systems just need one additional microinverter for every additional solar panel.
Microinverters maximize solar production across the solar array. They capture the most power possible from each panel and pass it to the rest of the energy system. This means that if a panel experiences shade or another obstruction, that panel may produce little or no power, but it does not affect the production of other solar panels.
Solar panels installed on homes or other dwellings must conform to NEC (National Electrical Code) RSD standards to quickly reduce voltage when needed. This protects firefighters and other emergency personnel who may need to access the solar system or cut through electrical wires in a crisis.
The MPPT (Maximum Power Point Technology) included in each microinverter expands the solar power harvest. MPPT continuously monitors the available solar power and automatically adjusts to capture as much energy as possible. This technology is ideal for locations prone to shade or other obstructions.
When paired with the Aptos Data Transfer Unit, the system includes remote monitoring capabilities. Aptos provides the Aptos End User App for both Apple and Android devices. This app makes it possible to monitor individual panels, real time system data, historical data, and more.
Each MAC-400 microinverter delivers power with less than 3% THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). THD measures the fluctuations in voltage and frequency, and power with low THD is safe for all devices, including sensitive electronics like lights, fans, and computers.
When installing the MAC-400 microinverters, it’s important to remember the Aptos AC Bus Cable. This cable connects each microinverter to the next one, collecting the harvested power from the entire row and directing it to the rest of the system.
It’s also important to include the AC Connector Unlock Tool, the Bus Connector Unlock Tool, and the AC Bus End Caps. The AC Connector Unlock Tool safely disconnects the AC Bus Cable from the microinverter cable. Use the Bus Connector Unlock Tool to open the connector for maintenance, and seal any exposed connector ends with the AC Bus End Caps.
All of these tools protect the electrical system and prevent damage, increasing the systems longevity and protecting against electrical fire.
Choose the Aptos MAC-400 microinverters to maximize solar production in a residential or commercial alternative energy system.
